India’s Semiconductor Industry Sees Unprecedented Growth in 2024

In 2024, India's semiconductor sector achieved significant milestones, including the approval of the first fabrication plant in Dholera, Gujarat, a collaboration between Tata Electronics and Taiwan's Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corp, with an investment of ₹91,000 crore. Additionally, two ATMP units were sanctioned: a ₹27,000 crore facility in Morigaon, Assam, expected to create 15,000 direct jobs, and another in Dholera. The industry attracted a total of ₹1.26 lakh crore in investments, signaling a robust emerging semiconductor ecosystem.
