Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a talented and motivated mechatronics engineer for our wet clean optimization (WCO) team that will split their time between developing/optimizing equipment maintenance methods and providing field support.
The first part of the job entails creating capital equipment maintenance processes and video procedures, designing mechanical fixtures to facilitate maintenance tasks, user acceptance testing of apps and working with app designers to make improvements. You'll be responsible for producing, implementing and maintaining solutions as well as participating in troubleshooting and issue resolution working with field support teams.
For the 2nd part of this role, you will spend extensive periods in the field, supporting deployed robotic systems. Responsibilities include system setup upon delivery, performing calibration routines, testing and validating performance, and diagnosing, troubleshooting, and documenting hardware and software issues independently. You will also collaborate closely with the design teams in the US and India to develop fixes and improvements to the product. A background in mechatronics and extensive experience in lab work and design of experiments (DOE) is essential. Flexibility and readiness to engage in various technical areas based on project needs are crucial. Our team operates like a start-up division, with engineers working on diverse aspects of projects in a dynamic environment. Critical analytical skills are essential for success in this role.
Roles And Responsibilities

- Perform technical scoping for new maintenance procedures
- Collaborate with CFT engineers to clarify maintenance procedures when only sparse documentation is available
- Present project updates and results to management in formal and informal presentations
- Develop multimedia (Animations, pictures, pdf, word) maintenance procedures for WCO service products and applications
- Setup and calibrate robotic systems at customer sites upon delivery. Test system performance, diagnose issues, troubleshoot, and resolve most problems independently. Document this process and report status regularly to teams in the US and India.
- Demonstrate strong hands-on experience with robotic and mechatronic systems.
- Design and conduct experiments and tests to resolve complex technical problems, implementing DOE principles.
- Collaborate closely with engineers in the US and India to troubleshoot and solve challenging problems over the phone while at the customer site.
- Work with the design team in the US and India to develop fixes and improvements to the product.
- Ensure regular overlap with normal business hours in California (United States).
- Take strong ownership of assigned tasks and projects, ensuring proper accountability.
- Act as a liaison for cross-functional projects across multiple organizations.
